What type of photos engrave the best?

Please ensure that your photographs are not too out of focus, over dark or too small. Please have the image as large as possible. Please do not reduce or crop the original image size. Your image can be black and white, sepia or full color - this does not have any effect on the engraved result. Images will be enhanced prior to engraving.

Real Life Example

The image to the left is well-suited for engraving with the laser. It is 1000DPI, has a good contrast and exposure, and the canine in the image stands out.  The image on the right is the finished product on a piece of slate.
